HP to digitise McCartney archive for cloud distribution
Paul McCartney has signed a deal with computer company HP to digitise his library of images, artwork, films and videos for cloud distribution.
HP states that the deal also covers “masters of some of the most popular songs ever written”.
While the majority of the content will be kept private, some will be made available to fans. HP will also build a bespoke CMS (content management system) for the material’s distribution.
McCartney says, “I’ve always been interested in creative ideas and new ways of reaching people, so this is a really exciting initiative for me. I hope it will allow people who might be interested to access parts of our archives they might otherwise not be able to. I’m looking forward to working with HP on this project.”
