Qymira – Shade of My Shadow
Qymira’s “Shade of My Shadow” is presented in a spectacular live video taken inside the Dolphy Theatre, featuring the artist playing with a full orchestra. From the start, dramatic string arrangements create a serious and sophisticated tone, distancing the song from traditional pop ballads. As the vocals progressively join the mix, Qymira’s voice expands with beauty and precision, leading the listener into a dramatic atmosphere where pop aesthetics meet neoclassical galaxy. The end result is a musical journey that carries feelings with each note. The atmosphere is ethereal and beautiful, sometimes moving towards darker colours but always remaining big and cinematic, particularly at the 2:19 mark, when the violins take the lead and enhance the mood of the song. A fragile, slow dance beat runs throughout the composition, giving a soft groove that pushes the song toward pop area while maintaining its orchestral core. The mastering emphasises higher frequencies, allowing the orchestra’s and singers’ melodic lines to truly come through and combine perfectly. This exact balance results in a sophisticated cinematic pop atmosphere that is personalised and open. Overall, Shade of My Shadow is a wonderful ballad that is sentimental, fascinating, and ABSOLUTELY “classic.”
