Hissikablelvuku – Bir Dalda İki Kiraz

Hissikablelvuku, an Istanbul-based group, recorded “Bir Dalda İki Kiraz” entirely live in the studio, presenting an effective mix of tradition and modern psych rock. The song transforms a well-known folk melody into a dramatic psychedelic rock song by combining traditional bağlama riffs with modern rock characteristics. The composition has strong regional and historical roots and is known as “Sala Sala” in Greece, “Naki Naki” in Iran, and “Eki Çeşme” in Central Asia. The song begins with oriental rock melodies, a change that preserves the original structure while reinventing it in a rock-oriented arrangement. Around 1:00, Turkish vocals enter the mix, performed in a unique retro tone characteristic of Turkey’s 1970s psychedelic rock glory days. The audio mix feels wide and spacious, allowing each instrument to breathe and strengthening the performance’s hypnotic character. The track’s dreamy, psychedelic sound design and sense of cosmic flow are obvious references to Hawkwind’s early work. At around 3:27, a guitar solo appears, with distortion taking on an oriental-psychedelic tone, less about technical show and more about taking the listener into a dreamy state. This section develops gently, extending the song till approximately 4:33. At this point, the song returns in a guitar-less dynamic section (the guitar takes a distant role in the mix), with the electric bass and main vocals taking center stage. The guitar takes a step back, allowing the arrangement slowly disappear, fading away with discipline and atmosphere rather than power.
