Alchemy (Spoken) starts with gentle piano lines that form an atmospheric and personal environment. A spoken-word performance develops over this simple, dark starting point with the narrator offering poems filled with mystery, passion, and surreal images. The piano acts as a continuous partner, enhancing the sense of a lonely poet exchanging thoughts in a quiet, almost confessional context. The arrangement’s minimalism allows the words to take centre stage, giving the composition a very sad character. There is a strong feeling of mental isolation and nostalgia, emphasised by the piano’s neoclassical touch, which offers elegance without being too dramatic. Each phrase feels wisely constructed, as if the stillness between the notes is just as important as the sound itself. The overall experience reminds one of Jim Morrison’s An American Prayer, but with a more neoclassical and dark tone.
