LUCKYANDLOVE – Secret is Out
LUCKYANDLOVE, the Los Angeles duo of Loren Luck and April Love, return with “Secret is Out,” a darkly cinematic electro music that combines emotions, atmosphere, and movement into a magnetic rhythm. The song begins with strange synth pads and an electro beat that creates a dark but delightful atmosphere. As April Love’s ethereal vocals appear, they reflect Siouxsie Sioux’s ethereal elegance, fading above vibrant basslines and vibrating synths. The production is extensive and unique, like a dream in which light and shadow overlap. Conceptually, the song tells “the story of a love-stricken vampire,” and the music wonderfully expresses that theme: lovely but tragic, attractive but tragic. The tearing synths and moving soundscapes create a sense of pursuit and escape, while the tempo keeps the listener in motion, creating the “motorcycle escape” described by April Love. “Secret is Out” builds in the point of transition between darkwave, dream pop, and synth-driven electronica.
