“Uncertainty” by Brainmaze begins with a wall of distorted guitars, creating a dark and violent atmosphere from the moment it begins. At 0:16, the main theme explodes in with a strong anger characteristic of Emperor’s early black metal assault, it’s at this point that you understand things are going to get serious. The vocals alsos enter with a raw, powerful presence that recalls the brutality of early Celtic Frost. It’s a standout: rough, magnetic, and well matched to the song’s retro-metal vibe. The rhythm section is one of the track’s enjoyable parts. The bass does more than just follow; it leads, giving the music a powerful rhythm that pushes everything into the dark future. Meanwhile, the guitars move into a more progressive metal sound, providing sophistication and contrast to the track’s personality.
