Tian Qiyi – Mongolian Dub

Tian Qiyi’s Mongolian Dub is a strong and attractive combination of ancient tradition and modern bass culture. The song begins with raw, earthy folk percussion, creating an ancient rhythm that straight away moves the listener. There’s an obvious experimental spirit at work here, as layers slowly come out into a beautiful, psychedelic atmosphere. As the dub basslines appear, they create a deep, rolling basis of Jah Wobble’s trademark low-end bass adventures. Traditional Mongolian instruments, merge with elegance, acting the primary voices in the piece rather than “decorative” touches. The final impact is an attractive mix of the ancient and modern, with ritualistic traces meeting modern groove. The vocal approach is storytelling-oriented, soft and ancient, allowing the instruments to breathe and evolve. Instead of prevailing, the voice guides kindly as if it were a storyteller creating a musical tale. This balance gives the music a peaceful experience encouraging concentration. Tian Qiyi’s Mongolian Dub is more than just genre synthesis; it’s a cultural dialogue, a musical trip over time and land. It’s psychedelic, and spiritually loud, and it shows how experimental production and global dub aesthetics may bring back traditional music.
