Treefon Lazos – Κάρμα Κομεντί

“Κάρμα Κομεvτί” by Treefon Lazos is a dark rack that combines traditional Greek “έντεχνο” vocal elements with dark, modern production. The song begins with enigmatic beats and a distant, bluesy guitar line hidden deep in the mix, creating an early perception of emotional detachment, perhaps a musical parallel for the distance between the self and fate, or between the current moment and the factors that shape it. As the Greek vocals emerge, they have a  folk-like expression that contrasts drastically with the electronic music background. Lazos’ vocal approach feels earthy but it flows over a production background that is obviously modern. The sentimental power of the music comes from the conflict between these two elements: traditional human expression handled through modern electronic disillusion. The dark beat remains noticeable, vibrating below with hidden drive and creating a hypnotic atmosphere constantly. The guitar, though low in the mix, acts as a blues ghost, adding dimension rather than melody and reminding us of the mental elements that are difficult to express. Treefon Lazos continues to show that he is not concerned with “simple” genres or stories. Instead, he presents challenging emotional worlds in which tradition and electronic technology meet in fascinating, but unusual, ways.
