The Beautiful Losers Release New Full-Length CD, Four Corners of a Tiny Planet – – Internationally Esteemed Cross-Cultural Hit Film and TV Songwriting Duo Unite American, Indian, Japanese and Canadian Fans Through Their Musical Worldview – – CD Release Party Announced for Friday, August 6, 2010, Mill Valley, CA

July 29, 2010 – Marin, CA – The Beautiful Losers proudly announce their CD release party, Friday, August 6, 2010, in Mill Valley, CA in honor of the release of their third studio CD, “Four Corners of a Tiny Planet”. The Beautiful Losers are an “Indian-influenced electro-acoustic alternative rock” act consisting of internationally esteemed professional songwriters and session musicians, Indo-Canadian Raj Ramayya and San Francisco native Brett Boyd, who met in Tokyo, Japan, formed the band in 2001.

The music of The Beautiful Losers draws influence from a wide range of iconic rock artists, including The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, The Eagles, U2, and Nirvana to the more modern Travis, Coldplay, Nittin Sawhney, and Radiohead. But, it’s the diverse and innovative ethnic musical influences that define and set the band apart from the status quo. Appealing to The Beautiful Losers’ vast Indian fan base, “Four Corners Of A Tiny Planet” includes a remake of the blockbuster Bollywood song classic, “Yeh Dosti”, known by virtually every Indian throughout the world and considered the Indian equivalent to “Stand By Me”, from the 1974 movie “Sholay”, featuring Amitabh Bachan, one of the most successful and recognizable actors in Bollywood history.

As first-call composers, Raj Ramayya and Brett Boyd continue to contribute music and songs to leading Japanese film and anime productions, such as cult-classics “Cowboy Bebop” and “Wolf’s Rain”, Toyota and Ashai Beer TV commercials, the “Biohazard” video game, and other recording artists, including punk rock legends Hi Standard and Ken Yokoyama, and iTunes chart toppers Studio Apartment and Captain Funk.

As The Beautiful Losers, Raj and Brett have developed a devout fan base through relentless touring in support of major acts, such as Coldplay, Indigo Girls, and Matt Nathanson, as well as song placements in MTV reality programs including “Real Life Stories”, “Two-A-Days”, and “Parental Control.” The Beautiful Losers have developed their American fan base from live appearances on leading local radio stations KFOG and Alice@97.3, West Coast Live, Amnesty International’s Rock for Human Rights, NPR’s “All Songs Considered”, NARAS “Grammy Showcases”, and having their music featured in The Gap’s 40th anniversary marketing campaign.

The Beautiful Losers retain a loyal international fan base, primarily, due to Raj and Brett’s multi-lingual ability to connect cross-culturally with fans throughout the world, as both speak Japanese fluently, and Raj, born to Indian immigrant parents in Saskatoon, Canada, grew up speaking Sanskrit. The Beautiful Losers’ exposure in India comes via Raj’s film score productions for his brother’s well-received documentaries and docudramas. Raj and Brett both reside in Marin County, California with their wives, both of Philippine descent, and their new families. In addition, Raj and Brett have launched their new venture, Strawberry Hill Music, specializing in music production, publishing and promotion.
