Metal band Watain sign to BMG Chrysalis
BMG Chrysalis Scandinavia has signed Swedish black metal band Watain. Watain were formed in the late 90′s and have gone on to win Swedish Grammies, with gold records and sold-out concerts around the world.
“We are extremely pleased to expand our roster with this exceptional band. In addition to the band’s other achievements, the Metal Hammer Golden Gods Awards named Watain ‘Best Underground Band’ earlier this year.
“This is just further proof that we are simply trying to stay ahead of our competitors and contracting the best, “says Sanken Sandqvist, General Manager of BMG Chrysalis Scandinavia.
Erik Danielsson of Watain added: “It feels really good to work with a competent publisher who have a genuine interest in music and isn’t afraid to test new, unexplored areas.”
The band’s next full-length album will be released in 2013.
