The Lovelines – Make Believe (Track Review)
Berlin, Germany and Orlando, Florida are the band’s respective home bases. The band’s singer is the band’s sister (Tessa), while its songwriter, musician, and producer is the band’s brother (Todd). Bedroom/Dream Pop, Lo-Fi, Jazz, and other genres are only a few of the influences on the band. The track “Make Believe” delivers to the audience a mix of Lo-fi Pop and Easy Listening music with emotional vocal lines and a romantic music atmosphere. The sensational female vibes of the singer mix with the dreamy guitar playing and the 1990s-inspired beat, ending up in what I would describe as an acoustic/R&B version of the Cardigans and Nouvelle Vague. The production is nice, and the sound is cinematic due to its smart, complex orchestration and uplifting mood.
