Interphase – A great Prog band to check out!
Interphase was originally started by Noel Avalos. Noel has been playing guitar from the age of 13, and keyboards from the age of 17. Most of the music of Interphase has been composed by Noel. Noel met James Bradley, the drummer, when James was playing jazz with Pat Salvatore. Noel asked James if he would be interested in playing progressive rock. James, being an avid fan of prog rock of course jumped at the chance after hearing the genius musicianship of Noel. James Bradley, had been playing the drums from 4 years old, and had classical piano training in his childhood years, and has had an extensive career in both Jazz and rock. Where Noel’s genius lies in composition, James’ genius is in lyrics and arrangement.
Together, Noel and James make a formidable musical partnership. Finally Noel and James joined with the late Danny Brand who plays both bass and keyboards. Noel says that he and James bake the doughnuts, and Danny puts the sprinkles on them. As such, Danny puts the finishing touches on the sound of Interphase, giving it a final polish. Danny had been playing bass from the age of 14, and keyboards from the age of 19. Unfortunately, Danny died on March 1, 2019, as the result of complications from a horrific car accident he had. James and Noel are currently looking for someone to fill Danny’s shoes.
Interphase has a very eclectic and electronic sound, yet at the same time a very guitar heavy sound with occasional acoustic instrumentation thrown in. Interphase has 4 studio albums, and a live double CD set. The names of the albums in order of release are as follows:
1) Manifest Destiny (2015)
2) Worlds Collide (2016)
3) Mysteries of the Unexplained (2016)
