Strangeways new album

December 12th 2011 sees the release of Strangeways 8th studio album “Age Of Reason”. Formed in the early 80’s, Strangeways have been around the block a time or two. Crooked managers, departing singers and a somewhat hostile business have conspired to keep them one of the UK’s best kept secrets. Even so, 8 studio albums, 1 greatest hits and 1 live album later and they have received much acclaim from fans and the rock press and as if to prove the point, they are still around.

Having been support act with the likes of Bryan Adams, The Kinks, Meatloaf, Europe, Glenn Hughes, The Hellecasters, Gino Washington and many more, Strangeways have performed successfully to a varied audience. Reunited last year with American singer Terry Brock and now with the return of bassist David Stewart, Age Of Reason is promising to be a classic Strangeways affair. Always shrugging off any attempt to pigeon hole them, with influences as varied as Prince, Chilli Peppers, The Tubes, Miles Davis, Hank Williams, Journey, Thin Lizzy, John Prine, Steve Earl, Frank Zappa etc Strangeways have pushed their musical boundaries to mixed reviews but always remained true to themselves and their roots in rock music. After a brief flirtation with the business for their comeback album “Perfect World” Strangeways have again decided to release Age Of Reason on their own Dangerous Dog Records label and are looking forward to promoting it live in early 2012.

What’s been said about Age Of Reason so far – “I think this is the album our fans have been waiting for” – Terry Brock / “OMG!” – Steve Price” – Arfm / “Yeehaw” Kieran Dargan – Firefest
