A kind of rock \u2018n\u2019 roll primal-scream therapy,\u00a0\u201cGet It Out\u201d\u00a0is the result of nearly four years of writing and recording sessions \u2014 and decades of touring, searching, striving and living. \u201cI\u2019ve learned that writing songs is very cathartic,\u201d says\u00a0Bello, who has long made songwriting a daily practice. When\u00a0ANTHRAX\u00a0is off the road, he tries out new material at open mics around New York City. \u201cA lot of these lyrics are about the inner struggles of my life, and about the rage that has built up from my life experiences \u2014 my brother\u2019s murder; my father abandoning my family when we were young, leaving us with no funds to pay the bills,\u201d he says. \u201cThe ups and downs of life in general. I\u2019ve always had an anger inside that music really helps me deal with.\u201d<\/p>\n
The follow-up to\u00a0ALTITUDES & ATTITUDE\u2018s 2014 self-titled EP was once again produced by\u00a0Jay Ruston\u00a0(ANTHRAX,\u00a0STEEL PANTHER,\u00a0STONE SOUR), with\u00a0Jeff Friedl\u00a0(A PERFECT CIRCLE,\u00a0ASHES DIVIDE) returning behind the kit.<\/p>\n
