John Lodge, legendary bass player, songwriter and vocalist of The Moody Blues, and recent inductee into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, will embark on his second solo tour of the U.S. titled \u201cThe Moody Blues\u2019 John Lodge:\u00a0 The 10,000 Light Years Tour\u201d beginning on October 12 in Nashvile, TN and continuing through October 23, in Arlington, MA.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The tour will support his live album Live from Birmingham, released in October 2017, featuring his classic Moody Blues hits, and some of this solo work from his 2015 studio album 10,000 Light Years Ago. <\/p>\n

Lodge is looking forward to now bringing this solo tour to the U.S., saying, \u201c\u2018Music is my life and I can\u2019t wait to get on the road with my 10,000 Light Years Band\u2026 the venues are smaller and more intimate, but I love live concerts \u201chave bass will travel\u201d that\u2019s the gypsy in me.\u00a0 I\u2019ll always be a \u2018Moody Blue\u2019, but I love getting the chance to perform songs that I have never performed before, and of course classic Moody Blue songs.\u00a0 The fans and I have travelled this road a long time and I also hope new fans will discover and explore along with us\u2019. <\/p>\n

John will appear with his \u201910,000 Light Years Band\u2019, and together they capture the heart of classic Moody Bluessongs he has penned and recorded such as \u201cI\u2019m Just a Singer (in a Rock and Roll Band),\u201d \u201cGemini Dream,\u201d \u201cRide My Seesaw,\u201d \u201cIsn\u2019t Life Strange,\u201d \u201cSteppin\u2019 in a Slide Zone\u201d,\u00a0 \u201cPeak Hour\u201d, \u201cEvening Time\u2019 (the latter two from Days of Future Passed), and the never before played live, \u201cCandle of Life\u201d.\u00a0 John will also perform songs from his solo album 10,000 Light Years Ago.\u00a0 This album received critical acclaim, and his song, \u2018In My Mind,\u2019 was nominated for \u201cAnthem of the Year\u201d in Prog Mag.\u00a0 John also has very special treats such as \u2018Saved by the Music\u2019 from the Blue Jaysalbum, and other new surprises that are being added to the set.\u00a0 This is a not-to-be-missed show full of beautifully crafted songs, great energy and sound, and a fantastic atmosphere.<\/p>\n

Joining Lodge on stage will be his \u201c10,000 Light Years Band,\u201d specially put together for the U.S. dates, including long time collaborator Alan Hewitt (keyboards\/music director). <\/p>\n

As a member of The Moody Blues since 1966, John Lodge has spent much of his life touring the world, as part of a ‘rock n roll band’.\u00a0 His first solo album titled NATURAL AVENUE was released 40 years ago in 1977, but was never performed live.\u00a0 When asked what has taken him so long to get his own show on the road, John was quick to point out, with a smile, that he has been busy with his “other band\u201d.<\/p>\n

The tour will support his live album and DVD JOHN LODGE:\u00a0 LIVE FROM BIRMINGHAM \u2013 THE 10,000 LIGHT YEARS TOUR, recorded during his 2016 UK tour in his hometown.\u00a0 Artwork was designed by Roger Dean, and is available as DVD\/CD box set, 180g Double Red Vinyl, and download via Pledge Music, Amazon and iTunes. <\/p>\n

During his remarkable career with the Moody Blues, Lodge John has received numerous awards including ASCAP (American Society Of Composers & Publishers) and an Ivor Novello for Outstanding Contribution to Music, and he has been voted one of the 10 most influential bass players on the planet.\u00a0 The Moody Blues are currently celebrating the 50th Anniversary of their iconic album \u2018Days of Future Passed\u2019 with a hugely successful tour, including a sold out performance at the Hollywood Bowl, the current release of their live album \u2018Days of Future Passed, Live\u2019, which reached the top of US DVD charts, and an upcoming 3 week residency at the Wynn in September.\u00a0 The Moodies continue to perform their music to fans across the generations, and can also currently be seen performing at the Rock and Rolll Hall of Fame Induction on HBO, and on Amazon Prime, and featuring two of John\u2019s hits, \u201cI\u2019m Just a Singer (in a Rock and Roll Band)\u201d, and \u2018Ride My See-saw\u2019. <\/p>\n

Lodge also has a wine line titled \u201cKrisemma Wine,\u201d which has won several prestigious international awards including \u2018Best South African Chardonnay\u2019 in the International Wine Challenge.
