D.O.A., Canada\u2019s legendary pioneering punks who set the bar high for punk, are ready to rip it up on the occasion of their 40th anniversary. They have a brand new album: Fight Back and they are embarking on a worldwide tour to support this impressive new effort.\u00a0 The Men of Action are ready to take on all opposition and lay down a punk rock path of wild music and free thought. The Godfather of Hardcore, Joe Keithley (guitar, vocals), leads their rough and ready line up that includes the manic rhythm section of Paddy Duddy (drums) and Corkscrew (bass).\u00a0

Early reviews are saying that Fight Back is the most innovative D.O.A. album since War on 45. D.O.A. has always been right on the pulse of what is going on in our screwed up world. Fight Back deals with what we have left, which in many ways, is not much. \u201cWhen you really think about it, income inequality and disparity is at the root of a lot huge problems, like environmental degradation, war, sexism and hate,\u201d says Keithley.\u00a0

Friends, that\u2019s exactly what D.O.A. has been fighting against for the last 40 years, that\u2019s why Joe has made TALK \u2013 ACTION = 0 his lifelong mantra. Fight Back, released on Joe\u2019s own label Sudden Death Records, is a scathing and timely piece. Joe deals with all manner of unseemly low characters and issues.\u00a0

The album opens with acerbic \u201cYou Need an Ass Kickin\u2019 Right Now,\u201d then rips right into the startling \u201cKiller Cops,\u201d then smashes into the anthemic \u201cTime To Fight Back,\u201d which is street punk resistance at its fiercest. D.O.A. rips thru the timely \u201cGonna Set You Straight\u201d with violent and natural ease, same goes with the vitriolic \u201cI Just Got Back From the USA.\u201d The album takes a D.O.A. funny twist with \u201cWe Won\u2019t Drink This Piss\u201d (down with bad corporate beer!) and \u201cYou Can\u2019t Stop Me,\u201d where Joe delves into the character of Slapshot playing coach Reggie Dunlop, a natural alter ego perhaps!\u00a0
