{"id":6044,"date":"2016-05-30T05:15:02","date_gmt":"2016-05-30T05:15:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/skylight.gr\/administrator_wordpress\/index.php\/2016\/05\/30\/dare-release-new-album\/"},"modified":"2016-05-30T05:15:02","modified_gmt":"2016-05-30T05:15:02","slug":"dare-release-new-album","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/skylight.gr\/index.php\/2016\/05\/30\/dare-release-new-album\/","title":{"rendered":"DARE release new album"},"content":{"rendered":"<p id=\"yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1464584026431_17740\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.germusica.com\/pics\/dare2016-cover-web.JPG\" border=\"0\" width=\"216\" height=\"216\" \/><br \/>Fronted  by singer songwriter Darren Wharton (who first rose to fame in the  early eighties playing keyboards with legendary Irish rock band Thin  Lizzy), DARE  are one of the most respected and innovative melodic rock bands working  today, gaining cult status among AOR fans throughout Europe, the UK and  the world.  <!--more-->  The band\u2019s debut 1989 album \u2018Out Of The Silence\u2019 recorded at  Joni Mitchell\u2019s Bel Air Studio Los Angeles, and produced by Nickelback\u00a0  producer Mike Shipley is still widely regarded today as one of the all  time great AOR albums.<\/p>\n<p id=\"yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1464584026431_17749\">Darren  joined Philip Lynott\u2019s\u00a0 Thin Lizzy \u00a0at the tender age of eighteen and  enjoyed 5 great years with the band touring extensively, alongside  \u00a0renowned guitarist Scott Gorham, drummer Brian Downey, guitarists Snowy  White (Pink Floyd),\u00a0 Gary Moore and John Sykes (Whitesnake).\u00a0 Working  closely with Philip Lynott, Darren also recorded classic Thin Lizzy  albums, such as \u2018Chinatown\u2019, \u2018Renegade\u2019, and \u2018Thunder and Lightning\u2019 on  which Wharton co-wrote 3 songs, including the hit single \u2018The Sun Goes  Down\u2019. \u00a0Sadly, the latter was to be Thin Lizzy\u2019s last studio album, and  in 1986 Darren Wharton returned to his home town of Manchester where, as  an outlet for his creative flare for song writing and working with  young Oldham guitarist Vinny Burns, he formed his own band, DARE.<\/p>\n<p id=\"yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1464584026431_17752\">Darren  re-joined Thin Lizzy in 1994 and the band continues to tour extensively  around the world to rapturous fans and huge audiences. The band  recently completed a big tour of the USA with Judas Priest and recently  supported Guns \u2018n\u2019 Roses in the UK as well as scores of major festival  shows.<\/p>\n<p id=\"yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1464584026431_17755\">Wharton\u2019s  style of song writing, modern anthemic rock with Celtic overtones,  coupled with the bands powerful live performances throughout Europe and  the UK ( Sweden Rock, \u00a0BYH Festival Germany) \u00a0have gained Dare the  reputation as a bright force on the British rock scene. SACRED GROUND is  the bands much awaited 7<sup>th<\/sup> studio album; a modern classic,  original, yet instantly addictive. It features some of Wharton\u2019s\u00a0 most  mature song writing to date.\u00a0 Thought provoking and passionate\u2026.whilst  still retaining a dark rock edge.
