The R\u200bAZ Band have been toiling in the rock and roll vineyard for longer than you might think. \u200bDedicated to the coolest place to ever grow up, \u200bt\u200bhe release of Madison Park \u00a0introduces \u200bT\u200bhe RAZ Band to \u200ba wider \u200bmainstream audience \u200ba\u200bnd \u200bis their breakout album. Band leader Michael \u200bRaz Rescigno says: \u201c\u200bI’m excited to get our newest album\u200b,\u200b\u200b \u200b’Madison Park’ out. \u200bIt’s a\u200b\u200b diverse\u200b collection of music from the last \u200bfew years of our lives. The album \u200bis \u200bdedicated to the \u200bNew Jersey \u200btown where \u200bRaz and his musical partner Hutch grew up. Raz recalls, \u201cMadison Park was a great place to grow up and we have many happy memories from that time of our lives\u200b.\u200b With that in mind we\u200b \u200bcreated an album that when someone hears it for the first time, the music already feels familiar. Songs that make you smile. \u200bMusic\u200b that you’ll want to listen to over and over.\u201d\u200b<\/div>\n
\u200b This is \u200bthe first Raz \u200balbum created with music legends Joey Molland (Badfinger) & Joe Vitale (Joe Walsh\/Crosby, Stills & Nash\/The Eagles) as \u200bfull \u200bband members. While\u200b they’ve been recording\u200b together\u200b for years, this is the first album that was planned to be a\u200b RAZ\u200b \u200bBand album and not a RAZ album, hence, \u201cThe RAZ Band\u201d.<\/div>\n

\u200b The catalyst that led to the Madison Park album was a \u200bRAZ \u200bshow\u200b at The Whisky\u200b A Go Go\u200b in Hollywood. Their guest performers were Joey Molland,(Badfinger), Gary Duncan,(Quicksilver Messenger Service) & Carla Olson, (The Textones). Raz\u200b recalls\u200b, \u201cWhenever Joey Molland \u200bcame to\u200b LA we \u200bwould \u200brecord\u200b\u200b RAZ songs. This time we recorded Joey’s great song, ‘Love Me Do’ from the amazing Badfinger album ‘No Dice’. To add to the fun, Gary Duncan was able to join us for this \u200brecording \u200bsession.<\/div>\n
\u200b \u201dWhen \u200bJoe Vitale \u200bcame \u200bback\u200b to \u200bLA, \u200b\u200b RAZ \u200bwent\u200b into the studio to record. \u201cWe recorded a new song that we wrote, ‘$1.50 For Your Love’. \u200b\u200bAfter cutting the back tracks with scratch vocals, Vitale said, ‘This song is a hit song, and let me tell you, I know what a hit song is’. And of course he does, he co-wrote ‘Rocky Mountain Way’ with Joe Walsh.<\/div>\n
\u201cA couple days later we \u200bwent\u200b back into the studio with Vitale and recorded another one of our favorite songs, ‘Shoot ‘Em Up’. This is from Joe Vitale’s great album, ‘Roller Coaster Weekend’.<\/div>\n
\u201cFast \u200b forward\u200b a couple of years and we recorded \u200bmany \u200bother songs I had been writing\u200b,\u200b\u200b including a very cool new version of ‘Time Marches On’ from the album ,’The Best of Los Angeles 1987′. We recorded some oldies that Hutch & I loved as kids\u200b.\u200b We recorded twenty five songs in all. ‘Madison Park’ shows many sides of the RAZ musical spectrum and it was made with lots of love and laughs and aha moments.\u201d<\/div>\n
\u201cI met the \u200bRaz almost 40 years ago and he’s been knocking me out ever since, the truth is in the songs, I don’t think he ever had an idea outside of that idea, so I started playing on his sessions like a lot of other people, we’ve done gigs separate and together for all those years and here we are with our first record deal, thanks Gonzo, hello world, will anything ever be the same? sure it will, ‘cept you’ll have the RAZ band to make sure.\u201d – Joey Molland<\/div>\n

We’ve recorded a ton of GREAT Raz originals and yes…miracles can happen….in this century….A RECORD DEAL! Well, being a couple of devoted Beatles’ fans, we have a similar sense of ‘song’….the RAZ catalogue is massive, current and rockin’! They are ALL fun grooves and great lyrics!!
