The new \u2018on air, on sale\u2019 strategy aims to dent online piracy, particularly from younger people.<\/p>\n<p>  <!--more-->  <\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u201cWait is not a word in the vocabulary of the current generation,\u201d says UMG\u2019s David Joseph. \u201cIt\u2019s out of date to think that you can build up demand for a song by playing it for several weeks on radio in advance.\u201d Joseph says that UMG\u2019s research shows Google and iTunes searches for songs peaking two weeks before they actually went on sale.
