{"id":477,"date":"2011-01-11T17:24:50","date_gmt":"2011-01-11T17:24:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/skylight.gr\/administrator_wordpress\/index.php\/2011\/01\/11\/emi-sale-rumours-quashed\/"},"modified":"2011-01-11T17:24:50","modified_gmt":"2011-01-11T17:24:50","slug":"emi-sale-rumours-quashed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/skylight.gr\/index.php\/2011\/01\/11\/emi-sale-rumours-quashed\/","title":{"rendered":"EMI sale rumours quashed"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"images\/stories\/images\/Various\/emi_logo-300x145 copy.jpg\" border=\"0\" \/><br \/>Speculation that US bank Citigroup could take over EMI in the next few weeks \u2013 paving the way for the sale of the UK music major &#8211; has been quashed by both parties, with one insider branding the rumour as \u201cbizarre\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>  <!--more-->  <\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Spokesmen from both Citigroup and Terra Firma \u2013the private equity group in charge of the music group- denied weekend reports that the sale of EMI is imminent \u2013 with the two parties both looking towards March as the time when a formal announcement regarding the future of the company will be made.<\/p>\n<p>It is then that Terra Firma is next expected to be in breach of the terms of its formal banking terms with Citi \u2013 allowing the bank the right to take formal ownership of the company.
