Murdoch\u2019s \u201cGod Help the Girl,\u201d among the dozen films in the World Cinema Drama Competition, is described as \u201csome messed up boys and girls and the music they made.\u201d The cast includes Emily Browning, Olly Alexander, Hannah Murray, Cora Bisset and Pierre Boulanger.  <!--more-->  <\/p>\n<p>The Cave film, \u201c20,000 Days On Earth\u201d from directors Iain Forsyth &amp; Jane Pollard, and the Spoon film, \u201cMy Prairie Home\u201d by director Chelsea McMullan, are in the World Cinema Documentary Competition.\u00a0 \u201cEarth\u201d captures a fictitious 24 hours in Cave\u2019s life and provides an intimate portrayal of the artistic process. McMullan\u2019s documentary uses images of the Canadian prairies as visual interpretations of Spoon\u2019s songs.<\/p>\n<p>Among other music-oriented films screening at the festival being held Jan. 16-26 in Park City, Utah, are \u201cSong One\u201d starring British musician Johnny Flynn and \u201cHappy Christmas,\u201d which stars \u201cPitch Perfect\u2019s\u201d Anna Kendrick and \u201cGirls\u2019\u201d Lena Dunham. Both are in the U.S. Dramatic Competition.<\/p>\n<p>Set in Brooklyn\u2019s music scene, Kate Barker-Froyland\u2019s \u201cSong One\u201d stars Anne Hathaway as an aspiring musician who tracks down her favorite singer, portrayed by Flynn.<\/p>\n<p>Also in the Dramatic Competition is Damien Chazelle\u2019s \u201cWhiplash\u201d about a talented young drummer who pursues perfection at any cost.
