{"id":3400,"date":"2013-08-01T06:11:58","date_gmt":"2013-08-01T06:11:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/skylight.gr\/administrator_wordpress\/index.php\/2013\/08\/01\/animals-frontman-eric-burdon-im-not-afraid-to-perform-in-israel\/"},"modified":"2013-08-01T06:11:58","modified_gmt":"2013-08-01T06:11:58","slug":"animals-frontman-eric-burdon-im-not-afraid-to-perform-in-israel","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/skylight.gr\/index.php\/2013\/08\/01\/animals-frontman-eric-burdon-im-not-afraid-to-perform-in-israel\/","title":{"rendered":"Animals frontman Eric Burdon: I&#8217;m not afraid to perform in Israel"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span class=\"storyTop \"> <\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/upload.wikimedia.org\/wikipedia\/commons\/thumb\/b\/b9\/Eric_Burdon_at_the_2008_Daffodil_Festival.jpg\/220px-Eric_Burdon_at_the_2008_Daffodil_Festival.jpg\" border=\"0\" width=\"154\" height=\"102\" \/><br \/>Animals frontman Eric Burdon has denied reports that he is to  withdraw from a planned concert in Israel following &#8220;threatening  emails&#8221;.  <!--more-->  <\/p>\n<p> <\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"body \">\n<p>In a statement from his management today 71-year-old Mr Burdon said  he had already arrived in Israel and that the concert would go ahead as  planned.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It was not my decision to cancel the show, it was my  manager&#8217;s, who as a result of lots of threating emails she received, was  genuinely afraid for my life,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I&#8217;m not afraid to preform here and very happy to be back in Israel&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>He  continued: &#8220;Above all, it is important for me to convey a message that  the past is not important, and the most important thing is and I came to  Israel, as I wished to. It was important for me to play here and I&#8217;m  concentrating all my energies towards the performance. We are going to  give a great show to the Israelis.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The Animals frontman, whose  hits include &#8220;House of the Rising Sun&#8221;, and &#8220;San Franciscan Nights,&#8221;  will perform alongside local Israeli bands in Binyamina, in the north of  the country.<\/p>\n<p>Last week his management released a statement saying  Mr Burdon would be withdrawing from the appearance: \u201cWe\u2019ve been  receiving mounting pressure, including numerous threatening emails,  daily.
