The Manchester band’s repertoire has been one of the most famous hold-outs from the service since it launched in 2008.<\/p>\n
Although the post-Oasis work of both Noel and Liam Gallagher – High Flying Birds and Beady Eye, respectively – is on the platform, Ignition has so far resisted making available tracks from albums such as Definitely Maybe, (What’s The Story) Morning Glory? and Dig Out Your Soul.<\/p>\n
However, speaking in an extensive interview on Ignition’s record company operation in today’s Music Week magazine, the group frankly responded to the situation with positive news.<\/p>\n
“It is the case that historically the Oasis catalogue isn’t on Spotify in the UK, but we’re talking to Spotify at the moment to address that – and it will be addressed very soon,” said Ignition Records director John Leahy.<\/p>\n
Ignition co-owner Alec McKinlay, who has worked with the band since 1993, added: “It’s purely a matter of timing. If you’re working with artists in any part of the industry, you have to engage with fans in the way they want you to.”<\/p>\n
Other long-term Spotify holdouts who catalogues have recently emerged on the platform and other streaming services include Metallica, Pink Floyd and The Eagles.<\/p>\n

It has recently handled similar self-released albums from the likes of Primal Scream and Stereophonics, as well as Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds.<\/p>\n
Oasis are one of just a handful of artists whose catalogue remains unavailable on Spotify. Others include The Beatles, Led Zeppelin and AC\/DC.S<\/p>\n
