Nine Inch Nails are set to debut their brand new single ‘Came Back Haunted’ this Thursday (June 6).

US radio station KROQ – will be broadcasting the track later this week. The song comes from the band’s new album, which is set for release later this year.

Lisa Worden, Music Director for the Los Angeles station said of the track: “I think it’s in line with the first two albums. Its got a great beat, it’s not the experimental material Trent’s done in the last five years.” She added: “I wouldn’t say that it’s dance-y, but it does have a great beat, a groove. Trent really brought it with this song. It’s going to sound amazing to new fans and old. It’s just cool.”

Trent Reznor recently announced plans for the follow-up to 2008’s ‘The Slip’ which he has been working on with Alan Moulder and Atticus Ross. In statement, the frontman said the album is “fucking great”. He commented:

I’ve been less than honest about what I’ve really been up to lately. For the last year I’ve been secretly working non-stop with Atticus Ross and Alan Moulder on a new, full-length Nine Inch Nails record, which I am happy to say is finished and frankly fucking great. This is the real impetus and motivation behind the decision to assemble a new band and tour again. My forays into film, HTDA and other projects really stimulated me creatively and I decided to focus that energy on taking Nine Inch Nails to a new place. Here we go!

Trent Reznor has also revealed that band’s former guitarist Robin Finck will rejoin the group for their forthcoming tour. The news came after Eric Avery announced that he was leaving the band. The musician – who was a founding member of Jane’s Addiction – said he was “overwhelmed” after recently touring with Garbage and didn’t feel like he could commit to another year and a half on the road “with all the intensity that Nails demands”.

Nine Inch Nails are set to play Reading and Leeds Festivals this August, as well as Lollapalooza in Chicago and Jay-Z’s Made In America Festival in Philadelphia this summer, with more tour dates to be announced.
