One of the details that really caught my attention was the saxophone, which added a warm 1980s touch to the arrangement, giving the song a slightly nostalgic character. Everything unfolds naturally without hurrying, creating an atmosphere of easy listening that still has some darker aspects. Matt Waco\u2019s storytelling vocal style fits this setting perfectly. His voice brings a neo-romantic quality to the song, and the fusion of jazz, folk and atmospheric rock creates an enigmatic mood. There are moments in the saxophone work that remind me of Elton Dean&#8217;s expressive style, particularly the way the instrument becomes part of the storytelling, rather than filling the arrangement. The result is music that manages to feel both comfortable and mysterious.
