Musically, the song begins with a reggae-rock vibe typical of The Police and The Clash, building a vibrant beat and providing the track a rebellious attitude. Moog-inspired elements provide a retro electronic taste to the composition, making for a unique contrast with the natural rock guitars. When the chorus arrives, the song changes to a classic-rock sound with obvious 1970s influences, making the arrangement feel bigger and more anthemic but maintaining its original rhythmic personality. However, the reggae-rock rhythm is what truly makes “FatCats” enjoyable. The groove is uplifting and simply encourages you to dance to the music, while the dynamic arrangement keeps the political and social aware message approachable without becoming excessively heavy-handed. The Refusers integrate a protest-rock mentality with a feel-good musical approach, resulting in a song that allows the listener to dance, enjoy the catchy melodies, and still receive the message about unfairness and a system that appears to favour those at the top.

According to the band, “FatCats” is a call to arms for anyone who believes that…

[14,5
226,414,5187
post-31562","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-pop-rock-reviews","category-reviews","tag-classic-rock","tag-reggae","tag-the-refusers
["GET
