Musically, the music begins with alternative-rock guitars that have a characteristic 1990s feel, while the smooth guitar flow eventually takes the song to its chorus. The arrangement then incorporates influences from 1960s music and garage rock, giving the single a nostalgic but vibrant personality. The chorus has a carefree, raw vibe, but the vocals are slightly dramatic, reminding me of R.E.M. and Midnight Oil. Despite these aspects, the song is easygoing and listener-friendly, allowing for a nice experience. The synths provide another layers to the arrangement, allowing the music to evolve in a softer and more melodic direction that sometimes resembles the atmospheric side of 1980s synth-rock. Overall, What’s Got You Down achieves a fine balance between alternative rock, garage-rock attitude, nostalgic melodies, and atmospheric synths. The various inspirations never feel pressured, and the casual performance complements the song’s message of letting go of unnecessary worries and simply living in the moment.

https://www.instagram.com/thefictionalsnyc

Facebook

According to the band, the song is about a lover encouraging their partner to overlook the…

[14,5
365,4070
post-31490","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-pop-rock-reviews","category-reviews","tag-alternative-rock","tag-the-fictionals
["GET
