Formed in 2014, the band looks into the continuing struggle between reason and the inner demons that many people face, revealing this psychological battle through an engaging mix of electronic soundscapes, trip-hop beats, and melancholy melodies. The music begins with slowly faded-in cymbals and progresses into a complex trip-hop atmosphere featuring deep bass, hypnotic percussion, and atmospheric electronics. Ethereal female voices rise above the music, producing a lovely but sad mood that contrasts nicely with the darker lyrical themes. The production makes excellent use of space, allowing the low-end frequencies to stabilise the mix while scratches and groovy rhythmic patterns bring movement and tension to the song. One of the song’s most dramatic moments comes at 2:18, when strange laughing suddenly interrupts the arrangement. The music slows significantly, giving way to a spoken-word, storytelling vocal section that enhances the psychological atmosphere until the whole band is slowly reactivated. As the music progresses, the percussion becomes stronger, the scratches gain attention, and the general energy rises, resulting in a powerful and mentally driven ending that rewards attentive listening. The production successfully balances darkness and groove, resulting in an atmospheric listening experience that never loses musicality for drama. Fans of Portishead and Archive will recognise the combination of melancholy electronics, expressive vocals, and cinematic trip-hop sounds. “666” is a hypnotic and well-written music with sophisticated production.

https://ghoss.bandcamp.com

https://www.facebook.com/ghosstheband

https://www.instagram.com/ghosstheband

GHO$$, a Jakarta-based alternative pop and trip-hop duo, explores the darkest side of their musical…

[14,5
5219,3241
post-31186","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-pop-rock-reviews","category-reviews","tag-gho","tag-trip-hop
["GET
