The acoustic guitars spread across the left and right sides of the stereo field, leaving the center space primarily for the vocals and electric guitar components. This careful mixing method gives the track depth, space\u00a0and precision, allowing each melodic layer to flow freely. The song is essentially a rock ballad with a progressive attitude, as proven by both the vocal performance and the arrangement. The orchestration slowly develops, bringing small touches that enhance the work without overpowering it. Around 1:30, exotic drumming provides another atmospheric dimension, broadening the track&#8217;s sense of emotion. Musically, the song sometimes brings out the melodic and emotional themes of Marillion, as well as the slower and more sentimental\u00a0side of Pain of Salvation. The track&#8217;s melodic touch remains one of its best features, with distinctive vocal and guitar lines carrying the sentimental weight of the arrangement. The mastering is also very successful, boosting the higher frequencies in a way that emphasises the melodic melodies but not making the mix uncomfortable.
