As distorted synth layers slowly enter the mix, the song develops complexity and tension while maintaining its ethereal base. When the vocals show up, they have a storytelling character filled with sadness and gentle emotion, which perfectly matches the song&#8217;s lyrical significance. Around 1:15, futuristic synth elements become more obvious, creating an impression of sentiment and physical distance, as if viewing war from a distant, even dystopian perspective. This section introduces a New Wave character with stylistic similarities to LCD Soundsystem and Talk Talk. Lyrically, the song is direct and thoughtful, using repetition and symbolism to emphasise its anti-war position. Lines like &#8220;the bodies are under the bus again&#8221; represent systematic lack of care and normalised violence, but the ongoing question, &#8220;how come we don&#8217;t call that murder?&#8221; challenges social denial.
