Dan Milligan, a renowned drummer and producer, has now joined the group. Together, they create a sound that is ideal for the message at the center of “We Are The Resistance,” mixing the melodic basis of alternative rock with an air of anger and resistance. The song begins with straightforward alt-rock sounds that create a calm and soft mood. However, at 0:35, Wilde’s vocals appear, and the song takes a significantly adventurous tone. Her voice acts as a narrative strength, leading the listener through a story of resistance and survival. The production maintains lucidity and punch all through, while melodic guitar lines are expertly balanced against increasing intensity as the song moves on. The energy picks up significantly at 2:30, approaching a near-punk aggressiveness that emphasizes the song’s rough attitude. “We Are The Resistance” is a strong statement of life and unity in its lyrics. The song confronts discrimination, fear, and compelled behavior with unconstrained strength, speaking directly to the reality of disadvantaged populations. The chorus turns the song into a group battle shouting while constant questions like “Why should I change?” and “Why should I care?” reveal the apathy and hostility of those opposed to development. Lines like “You cannot take our rights away / You cannot pray us away” are powerful statements of humanity, individuality, and power. The song had fully established itself as a protest hymn and an act of survival by the time the last promise, “We will fight, we will stay,” strikes.

https://swordtongue.bandcamp.com

https://www.facebook.com/SwordTongue

https://www.instagram.com/swordtongue

Vocalist Jennifer Wilde and guitarist Gaetano Maleki, a husband-and-wife team created during the 2020 pandemic’s…

[14,5
365,290,4767
post-29238","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-pop-rock-reviews","category-reviews","tag-alternative-rock","tag-punk","tag-sword-tongue
["GET
