According to the band, the track explores the struggles of two individuals lost in their own psychological masks, seeking a way out while facing the fragility that comes with exposing their true selves.”This theme creates the emotional atmosphere: a psychological maze with walls that are built by themselves. The tune begins with a constant rock melody, accompanied by peaceful instrumentation that gives a sense of storytelling from the first bars. The vocals begin with a descriptive sound, which is peaceful, private and touched with an almost progressive-rock flavor typical of early Dream Theater’s gentler, more melodic parts. The song becomes stronger in 0:52. The drums become more aggressive, the guitars broaden and the emotional consequences increase. The sequence of events provides a basis for the song’s standout moment: the male-female vocal duet. As the melody proceeds to the chorus, the duet develops with a perfectly controlled tension. The voices combine and contrast in a way that recalls Anathema’s lyrical melancholy from the 1990s, with its mental sadness and bittersweet love desire. This dual-vocal moment feels like two lost souls calling from opposing ends of the labyrinth, each attempting to break through their own walls. The interaction is personal but distant, sensitive but sad. It draws the listener deeper, into the two characters’ secret psychic spaces.

https://instagram.com/duplexityband

Duplexity’s “Labyrinth” is a very personal progressive-rock ballad that explores the complex intersection of identity,…

[14,5
4738,284,125
post-29093","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-pop-rock-reviews","category-reviews","tag-duplexity","tag-goth","tag-prog
["GET
