Around it, vibrant layers of reverbed guitar appear, recalling the musicalrange of early U2 and The Chameleons&#8217; dark melodic lines. These guitar sounds create an inviting haze, giving the tune a post-punk basis as well as a shoegaze-style dreaminess that feels nostalgic. The vocals creep in from the distance, as if echoing across an endless acoustic environment. This choice increases the song&#8217;s sense of distance and relaxation while allowing the instrumental sections to take in and evolve in the front. The vocal performance feels more like an emotion-filled presence than a direct narrative, haunting, hazy, and carefully hidden in the mix. As the remix develops, the electronic elements become more and more noticeable. Psychedelic touches flow around the beat, creating a gentle trance-like movement. More funky dance sounds develop, eventually turning the music from an unearthly guitar-driven song to a hypnotic electro-post-punk combination. The use of vocoder effects provides a particularly modern look. These futuristic vocal layers contrast with the traditional guitar tones, resulting in a duality of past and future, nostalgic on the one hand and futuristic on the other.
