Monroe tells acting coach Lee Strasberg in a handwritten, undated letter that she cannot concentrate on what she is trying to learn. That note, written on Hotel Bel-Air letterhead stationery, is expected to fetch up to $50,000 (\u00a333,000).<\/p>\n
A collection of 58 letters that Eisenhower wrote to his wife Mamie while he was the Allied commander during the Second World War could bring up to $120,000 (\u00a380,000).<\/p>\n
And John Lennon’s letter to Paul and Linda McCartney around the time of the Beatles’ formal 1971 break-up could bring up to $60,000 (\u00a340,000).<\/p>\n
They are among 250 items being auctioned on May 30 by documents dealer Profiles in History.<\/p>\n

I was reading your letter and wondering what middle aged cranky Beatle fan wrote it. I resisted looking at the last page to find out \u2013 I kept thinking who is it \u2013 Queenie? Stuart’s mother? \u2013 Clive Epstein’s wife? \u2013 Alan Williams? \u2013 What the hell \u2013 it’s Linda!<\/p>\n
You really think the press are beneath me\/you? Do you think that? Who do you think we\/you are? The “self-indulgent doesn’t realize who he is hurting” bit\u2013I hope you realize what shit you and the rest of my ‘kind and unselfish’ friends laid on Yoko and me, since we’ve been together. It might have sometimes been a bit more subtle or should I say “middle class” \u2013 but not often. We both “rose above it” quite a few times \u2013 & forgave you two \u2013 so it’s the least you can do for us \u2013 you noble people. Linda \u2013 if you don’t care what I say \u2013 shut up! \u2013 let Paul write \u2013 or whatever.<\/p>\n
When asked about what I thought originally concerning MBE, etc. \u2013 I told them as best as I can remember \u2013 and I do remember squirming a little \u2013 don’t you, Paul? \u2013 or do you \u2013 as I suspect \u2013 still believe it all? I’ll forgive Paul for encouraging the Beatles \u2013 if he forgives me for the same \u2013 for being \u2013 “honest with me and caring too much”! Fucking hell, Linda, you’re not writing for Beatle book!!!<\/p>\n
I’m not ashamed of the Beatles \u2013 (I did start it all) \u2013 but of some of the shit we took to make them so big \u2013 I thought we all felt that way in varying degrees \u2013 obviously not.<\/p>\n

When you stop believing it you might wake up! Didn’t we always say we were part of the movement \u2013 not all of it? \u2013 Of course, we changed the world \u2013 but try and follow it through \u2013 GET OFF YOUR GOLD DISC AND FLY!<\/p>\n
Don’t give me that Aunty Gin shit about “in five years I’ll look back as a different person” \u2013 don’t you see that’s what’s happening NOW! \u2013 If I only knew THEN what I know NOW \u2013 you seemed to have missed that point….<\/p>\n
Excuse me if I use “Beatle Space” to talk about whatever I want \u2013 obviously if they keep asking Beatle questions \u2013 I’ll answer them \u2013 and get as much John and Yoko Space as I can \u2013 they ask me about Paul and I answer \u2013 I know some of it gets personal \u2013 but whether you believe it or not I try and answer straight \u2013 and the bits they use are obviously the juicy bits \u2013 I don’t resent your husband \u2013 I’m sorry for him. I know the Beatles are “quite nice people” \u2013 I’m one of them \u2013 they’re also just as big bastards as anyone else \u2013 so get off your high horse! \u2013 by the way \u2013 we’ve had more intelligent interest in our new activities in one year than we had throughout the Beatle era.<\/p>\n
Finally, about not telling anyone that I left the Beatles \u2013 PAUL and Klein both spent the day persuading me it was better not to say anything \u2013 asking me not to say anything because it would ‘hurt the Beatles’\u2013 and ‘let’s just let it petre out’ \u2013 remember? So get that into your petty little perversion of a mind, Mrs. McCartney \u2013 the c**ts asked me to keep quiet about it. Of course, the money angle is important \u2013 to all of us \u2013 especially after all the petty shit that came from your insane family\/in laws \u2013 and GOD HELP YOU OUT, PAUL \u2013 see you in two years \u2013 I reckon you’ll be out then \u2013<\/p>\n
