Wobble, best known for his breakthrough work on Metal Box (1979), continues to explore and expand the dub genre in this fascinating instrumental trip. The music begins with his trademark slow, echo-driven\u00a0bass notes, producing a slow\u00a0groove that is\u00a0spiritual and powerful. Tyson Dub Remix unfolds like a scene from a surreal film, with elements building from minimalist percussion patterns to futuristic\u00a0synths and off-kilter effects. The main character appears to be lost in a fog of memories, with ideas looping back on themselves in a dub-inspired\u00a0maze. The production pays a clear tribute to the great Lee &#8220;Scratch&#8221; Perry by leaning strongly into a psychedelic dub atmosphere, full of\u00a0reverb, unexpected in structure, and playfully obsessive Around the midway, brass sounds enter the mix, adding a cheerful and smooth energy that takes the music to a more structured, even cinematic dimension. Then, soon after 3:35, everything changes: futuristic synths start to vibrate, taking the music into a cosmic dimension. It&#8217;s as if the dub trip has left Earth entirely, inviting the listener to explore the unknown.
