The Fear’s most recent single, “MOTHS TO FIRE,” is a powerful mix of modern violence and real emotions, a heavy ballad with an industrial heart. Beginning with crushing distortion and dark electronic sounds, the song\u00a0defines itself as an intense experience. There’s a clear tribute to early 2000s alt-metal, think Five Finger Death Punch’s melodic strength combined with Linkin Park’s electronic\u00a0energy, but it’s all wrapped in an elegant, modern production that wouldn’t look out of place on a cyberpunk soundtrack. The music kicks off with a heavy groove. Electronic components move in and out, providing an unexpected contrast to the heavy, downtuned guitars. The distinction is well handled in the mix, resulting in a musical combination that is fresh,\u00a0aggressive nevertheless pleasant.
