Steinruck’s Letting You Go is a dramatic breakup song that’s ideal for Valentine’s Day—but not in the typical sense. Rather than celebrating love, the song honors the end of a poisonous relationship, presenting the moment of realization and relief with thrilling passion. The track opens with melodic electric guitars and strings, creating a beautiful but melancholic rock atmosphere. The post-grunge influences and sophisticated melodic rock approach make it attractive to mainstream audiences as well. At 1:57, the electric guitars rise with just the proper amount of distortion—strong enough to boost the song’s emotions but never overwhelming, maintaining the balance of a thoughtful power ballad. The words reveal a personal story of discovery and relief. Lines such as “I was looking for answers that were there all the time” and “I can see who I am now and I know what to do” show the path from sadness to empowerment. The chorus carries an eternal psychological punch, particularly with the phrase, “I see who you are, and I’m letting go.” The presence of additional female vocal is a track highlight, as they support the lead voice well, offering a dimension of complexity and contrast that increases the song’s significance. The only thing that could be improved is the vocal mixing and mastering—the vocals often sounds low in volume, and a more polished production might push it to a really radio-friendly success. It’s a song that will speak to anyone who has found courage in walking away.
