Inspired by Jeff VanderMeer&#8217;s novel Absolution, the song feels like aural extension of his strange storytelling style, bringing listeners into a deep listening experience that crosses the line between music and storytelling. The music begins with ethereal electronic sounds merged in a distorted mix, \u00a0developing a mysterious and surreal atmosphere. Tom Murray&#8217;s narrative-style lead vocals, processed with an unusual backward-reverb effect, have an almost hypnotic feel, bringing the listener into the protagonist&#8217;s mindset. Cheryl Gelover&#8217;s \u00a0background harmonies provide a dimension and increase the track&#8217;s mysterious attraction. Musically, the song is heavily influenced by electronica and trip-hop, while its production leans toward art pop, remembering the legendary 4AD Records style. The Cocteau Twins&#8217; influence is evident, especially in the ethereal soundscapes and sensitive fitting of melody and atmosphere. Tulipomania, on the other hand, adds their own distinct aroma in the audio mix, creating a sound that is\u00a0contemporary and experimental. The production is carefully developed, with layered synthesizers and electronic drums creating an ambient background that moves between anxiety and relaxation.
