The song begins with an explosion of loud, distorted guitars, establishing a “violent” mental state which swiftly attracts awareness. The guitar tone is rough, providing the song an edge that seems like early US punk. At 0:52, Hodges’ vocals show up, with a Talking Heads-style approach that is both cynical and aggressive. His vocal approach gives the tune a distinct, almost spoken-word sound, creating an air of energy that fits the song’s hard-hitting disapproval of political institutions and the question of trust within politics. The lyrics go to the heart of social issues, connecting with listeners who share Hodges’ dissatisfaction and mistrust. The outstanding synchronization of the singer’s voice and the orchestral background emphasizes the song’s message. Each riff and phrase seemed to be designed to alarm, reflecting the track’s explosive, rebellious character. “Election Day” is not afraid to address social concerns, making it an important anthem for individuals who feel alienated or disappointed by today’s political scene.

https://simonhodges.bandcamp.com

Simon Hodges’ “Election Day” is a fast, enthusiastic song that combines alternative rock roughness with…

[14,5
365,290,4077
post-25616","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-pop-rock-reviews","category-reviews","tag-alternative-rock","tag-punk","tag-simon-hodges
["GET
