Trailblazing electro-metal hybridizers Powerman 5000 kicked 2024 into high gear with the release of their brand new single \u201c1999\u201d earlier this month and announced their next full-length effort,\u00a0Abandon Ship<\/em>, which is set for release on all formats May 10. It\u2019s been 4 years since the release of the band\u2019s previous album,\u00a0The Noble Rot<\/em>, which spawned an underground neo-gothic sensation with \u201cBlack Lipstick.\u201d Now, bandleader Spider One continues his journey to the dark side of the dancefloor with a fresh set of 10 original songs that will make\u00a0Abandon Ship<\/em>\u00a0one of this year\u2019s most infectious industrial metal albums.\u00a0
The new single \u201cDancing Like We\u2019re Dead\u201d evokes images of a postmortem rave-up, populated with severed heads and undertakers, riding a dark and gritty groove that\u2019s both chilling and infectious.
