The group&#8217;s broad artistic vision can be heard in this album, which combines tribal rhythms, folk, post-punk, and ambient soundscapes to create an elegant and immersing listen. &#8220;Intro (Elli\u00efakot),&#8221; the album&#8217;s first track, sets the mood with its intriguing atmosphere and enigmatic drumming, drawing listeners into The Shadow Majlis&#8217; realm. &#8220;The Way Home&#8221; shows the group&#8217;s excellent production and musical ability with its ambient acoustic balladry and mournful sitar. &#8220;Love In Flames&#8221; is an epic musical journey, with folk influences and tribal drumming recalling early The Cure songs. These elements provide the composition its complexity and depth. &#8220;Savage Castaway&#8221; creates a melancholic yet captivating soundtrack by incorporating unusual folk-punk components along with a tribal melodies. &#8220;Deer In The Headlights&#8221; creates an intriguing contrast between tribal rhythms and melodramatic post-punk atmospheres, while &#8220;Mazdur&#8221; takes a shoegaze turn, combining oriental influences with experimental rock reminiscent of Nik Turner&#8217;s solo work. A beautiful song, &#8220;Swallowed By The Sky&#8221; expresses existential struggle and longing through its melancholic lyrics and expressive orchestration. &#8220;I Remember&#8221; recalls thoughts of departed loved ones with its sad violin and sad synth tones. &#8220;Beshno Az Ney (We Come To Leave)&#8221; attracts with its enigmatic folk chants, providing the album&#8217;s aural production a sense of mystery. The album ends with the mysterious &#8220;The Departure (Kolyskova)&#8221; track, which features ageless folk tunes and ethereal female vocals. &#8220;The Departure&#8221; is an outstanding work of artistic expression and sonic exploration that illustrates The Shadow Majlis&#8217; capacity to integrate a variety of inspirations into an engaging and exciting musical experience.
