Legendary drummer Michael Shrieve<\/strong> announces the much-anticipated release of his album, \u201cDrums of Compassion,\u201d set to drop on May 24, 2024 on Trey Gunn<\/strong>\u2019s innovative label, 7D Media<\/strong>. This album is a testament to Shrieve\u2019s artistic journey, encapsulating over fifty years of musical exploration and collaboration with some of the most revered names in the industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDrums of Compassion\u201d is not merely an album; it\u2019s an odyssey that began two decades ago inspired by the Dalai Lama\u2019s call for a Time of Compassion, with a nod to the title of Nigerian Percussionist Babatunde Olatunji<\/strong>\u2019s classic album from 1959, \u201cDrums of Passion\u201d, which is one of the first records to popularize African Music to the Western World.
