{"id":2271,"date":"2012-11-07T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2012-11-07T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/skylight.gr\/administrator_wordpress\/index.php\/2012\/11\/07\/universal-to-launch-capitol-records-in-uk\/"},"modified":"2012-11-07T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2012-11-07T00:00:00","slug":"universal-to-launch-capitol-records-in-uk","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/skylight.gr\/index.php\/2012\/11\/07\/universal-to-launch-capitol-records-in-uk\/","title":{"rendered":"Universal to launch Capitol Records in UK"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.flyclothing.com\/images\/D\/d_6181.jpg\" border=\"0\" width=\"155\" height=\"101\" \/><br \/>Universal Music Group boss Lucian Grainge has revealed the intention to create a division of Capitol Records in the UK.  <!--more-->  <br \/>Speaking to Hits Daily Double, Grainge said that he wants to \u201ccreate an arc\u201d between Capitol in the US and in the UK.<\/p>\n<p>He outlined plans to sign new artists to the label as well as providing internal resources \u201cto give it a leg up and get it started.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEMI has a different meaning depending on which continent you are speaking about,\u201d said Grainge. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI&#8217;m learning this and trying to better understand it as we go along. The United States is about Capitol, and the UK and Europe are about EMI and Virgin.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is my ambition that we take advantage of the strengths that these identities have globally and geographically to where it can make the most difference,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI also see a great opportunity for us to really create an arc between Capitol Records in the United States and in the UK. That will be done with new artists, and we may even add resources that we have internally into Capitol to give it a leg up and to get it started. Capitol Records, West Coast music, that&#8217;s an important brand.
