Psychedelic prog-metallers Enslaved<\/strong> are proud to announce a new UK and European headline tour for Spring 2024. This news comes a few days after their final live show of the year at Damnation Festival<\/strong>, following on from a hectic festival season with performances at the likes of Midgardsblot<\/strong>, ArcTanGent<\/strong>, Brutal Assault<\/strong>, Beyond The Gates <\/strong>and Desertfest Antwerp<\/strong>, <\/strong>on-top of a co-headline tour across the USA and Canada earlier this year with Insomnium<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new 16-date run will take place in March 2024, taking the band across 10 different countries. Support on the road will come from British post-hardcore quartet Svalbard <\/strong>and US metallers Wayfarer<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Enslaved<\/strong>‘s latest masterpiece Heimdal <\/strong><\/em>came out earlier this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vocalist and bassist Grutle Kjellson <\/strong>commented,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Heimdal <\/strong><\/em>was produced by Enslaved<\/strong>‘s own Ivar Bj\u00f8rnson<\/strong>, Iver Sand\u00f8y<\/strong> and Grutle Kjellson<\/strong>. <\/strong>Mixing was handled by Jens Bogren <\/strong>at Fascination Street Studios<\/strong>, and the final treatment was mastered by Tony Lindgren<\/strong>. The concept and lyrics for Heimdal <\/strong><\/em>was, as always, developed by Ivar Bj\u00f8rnson<\/strong> and Grutle Kjellson<\/strong> in tandem. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The album was recorded primarily at Solslottet Studios<\/strong> in Bergen, which is owned by Iver Sand\u00f8y<\/strong>. Solslottet <\/strong>is a <\/strong>satellite of the well-known Duper Studios<\/strong>, where the drums were recorded and engineered by Iver<\/strong> himself, with assistance from Vegard Lemme<\/strong>. The main <\/strong>guitars, bass, pianos, organs, and vocals were also recorded at Solslottet<\/strong>. Arve ‘Ice Dale’ Isdal<\/strong> recorded his guitar leads at his own Earshot & Conclave Studios<\/strong>. The final touches and a few experimental ideas were added at the Overlook Hotel<\/strong> using Solslottet\u2019s <\/strong>mobile studio rig. All music for Heimdal<\/strong><\/em> was written and demoed at Ivar Bj\u00f8rnson\u2019s<\/strong> own Crow\u2019s Nest <\/strong>studio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The record features psychedelic track ‘Caravans To The Outer Worlds<\/strong>‘ from last year’s EP of the same name.\u00a0Album\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>bonus\u00a0versions contain an extra track, ‘Gangandi<\/strong>‘, alongside a Blu-Ray copy of 2021’s\u00a0<\/strong>stunning\u00a0Otherworldly Big Band Experience\u00a0<\/strong>streamed event\u00a0–\u00a0<\/strong>the band’s\u00a0<\/strong>boldest project to date, featuring fellow Norwegian prog band\u00a0Shaman Elephant<\/strong>. The\u00a0kaleidoscopic stage show\u00a0features a stellar setlist, covering\u00a0Enslaved<\/strong>‘s career, both past and present.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Never faltering, Norway\u2019s iconic Enslaved<\/strong> continue to exist as one of the most original and dependable components in our scene’s indestructible backbone. Possessing the reputation as one of the most riveting live acts around, they never fail to offer us talent of the highest calibre, always doing justice to their signature black\/progressive sound. Enslaved<\/strong> was formed in 1991 by Ivar Bj\u00f8rnson<\/strong> and Grutle Kjellson<\/strong>, releasing their first demo Yggdrasill<\/strong><\/em> <\/strong>in the summer of 1992, their legendary mini-album <\/strong>Hordanes Land<\/strong><\/em> coming out in 1993, and with their debut full-length <\/strong>Vikingligr Veldi<\/strong><\/em> <\/strong>arriving in the spring of 1994.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Enslaved <\/strong>in 2023 are <\/strong>a band in stellar form – a band at its most existentialist and self-conscious, proud Bergeners bearing the torch of their hometown\u2019s extraordinary musical history. Their most recent material shows Enslaved <\/strong>at their most unleashed and thought-through – a lethal combination unfurling a potential that\u2019s easily rekindling the furor of their early works while dancing gracefully through their most ambitious, most haunting and most musical tunes yet. A contradiction? Life itself is a contradiction. And yet we all live to prove it wrong.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
