If you haven\u2019t caught a live performance of mesmerizing vocalist Emily Kavanaugh and producer\/instrumentalist Mark Brooks, the duo behind one of the most buzzed about bands in the L.A. music scene, Night Club, then you are missing out. The two have been captivating audiences both live and on record since the release of their self-titled debut EP in 2012 and seemingly single-handedly reviving the seedy, celebratory delights of vintage gothic darkwave music. Recently, the band was invited to offer their take on one of the most influential dance-rock tracks of all-time, the brilliant \u201cCities In Dust\u201d from the critically acclaimed 1986 Siouxsie & The Banshees album from,\u00a0Tinderbox<\/em>.

Serendipitously coinciding with a massive spike in interest around Siouxsie Sioux, a result of her performing for the first time in 15 years at the massive Cruel World festival earlier this year, Night Club\u2019s take on \u201cCities In Dust\u201d bristles with carnal energy, trading the original\u2019s delicate keyboards for full wall-of-sound synth overload and throbbing, bass-heavy drums. Kavanaugh\u2019s dramatically softer voice gives the track both a more accessible and far more sensual feel while Brooks\u2019 multi-layered production finds the perfect place for each sonic element.

Night Club declare,\u00a0\u201cWe\u2019re honored to be part of the Siouxsie and the Banshees tribute record as we\u2019re massive fans. We chose ‘Cities In Dust’ as we thought we could do it justice and add our own flavor to such a classic track.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cCities In Dust\u201d is the first single from the forthcoming full-length\u00a0Spellbound – A Tribute To Siouxsie & The Banshees<\/em>. The album features contributions from amazing new talents such as Kap Bambino, The KVB, Night Beats and R. Missing along with music veterans including a former Banshee Jon Klein who teams with PiL bassist Jah Wobble plus Xiu Xiu, Skold and lots more! The album will be available on all formats August 25.
