The Complete Recordings 1992-1996<\/em> by Australia\u2019s premiere goth band, IKON, takes us back to the dawn of their darkwave endeavors with a complete four-CD anthology, cataloging their burgeoning beginnings as a young band, after emerging from the ashes of previous project, Death In The Dark. Frontman Chris McCarter and bassist Dino Molinaro began writing songs together as high school students in 1988, pulled in by the undertow of First Wave goth. These early influences inspired them to create a sound all their own, a unique blend of gothic\/darkwave music, infused with elements of Joy Division, early New Order, and a touch of Death In June.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This comprehensive anthology captures their earliest recordings from 1992 to 1996, including their first EP, The Echoes of Silence<\/em>, recorded at Melbourne\u2019s Studio 52 in June 1993, followed by two full-length albums, In The Shadow of the Angel<\/em> (1994) and Flowers for the Gathering<\/em> (1996). Last but not certainly not least, we would be remiss to forget what makes this collection complete, with Rarities<\/em>, an eclectic gathering of rare gems, which includes a variety of mixes, alternate versions, and re-records.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
