BMG, in partnership with Rhino Entertainment, announces \u2018THE ATLANTIC YEARS\u2019 LIMITED EDITION BOX SET, celebrating RATT\u2019s massively successful period where all 5 of their studio albums were certified GOLD, PLATINUM or MULTI-PLATINUM. Released on June 9th, the LP set features all 5 albums remastered on 180g black vinyl, rare \u201cNobody Rides For Free\u201d 7\u201d single, 12 page replica tour book (featuring rare and never before seen photos from RATT\u2019s personal archives), 11\u201dx17\u201d WANTED POSTER, bumper sticker, replica backstage pass, and guitar pick in a custom lift top box. The CD set features all 5 of the studio albums in a side loading box.
All albums feature the classic line up of Stephen Pearcy (vocals), Warren DeMartini (guitars), Robbin Crosby (guitars), Juan Croucier (bass\/vocals), and Bobby Blotzer (drums)
Formed in Los Angeles, RATT was featured as an unsigned act on Uncle Joe Benson\u2019s Local Licks Drive Time Show on KLOS-FM. This was their first time on radio and led to their signing to Atlantic Records.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
RATT exploded on to the national scene in 1984 with the release of \u2018Out Of The Cellar.\u2019 Featuring an undeniable hook and legendary music video, lead single \u201cRound And Round\u201d hit #12 on the Billboard Hot 100, while \u2018Out Of The Cellar\u2019 reached #7 on the Billboard Top 200 and was certified triple platinum. Two more charting singles followed with \u201cBack For More\u201d and \u201cWanted Man\u201d. RATT started the tour as an opening act, but by the end of the tour had climbed to arena headliner.
RATT returned in 1985 with their 2nd full length album, \u2018Invasion Of Your Privacy.\u2019 Certified double platinum and also reaching #7 on the Billboard Top 200, \u2018Invasion of Your Privacy\u2019 also featured the classics \u201cLay It Down\u201d (#40 Billboard Hot 100) and \u201cYou\u2019re In Love\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2018Dancing Undercover\u2019 followed in 1986 as RATT toured North America with a brand new LA band called POISON as the opening act. Lead single \u201cDance\u201d hit the Billboard Hot 100 and spawned another music video hit with \u201cSlip Of The Lip\u201d, while \u201cBody Talk\u201d was featured in a key scene in the Eddie Murphy film, \u2018The Golden Child\u2019. \u2018Dancing Undercover\u2019 became RATT 3rd consecutive PLATINUM album and reached #26 on the Billboard Top 200.
1988\u2019s \u2018Reach For The Sky\u2019 saw RATT return to the Top 20 of the Billboard Top 200 album charts, peaking at #17. Driven by the bluesy hit and MTV favorite \u201cWay Cool Jr.\u201d, \u2018Reach For The Sky\u2019 was also certified PLATINUM and became RATT\u2019s 4th album in a row to move well over a million copies. \u201cI Want A Woman\u201d was also a successful single and the video captured the excitement and energy of RATT live.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
RATT released their last full-length record of the Atlantic era, Detonator, in 1990. Music was changing, but \u2018Detonator\u2019 was still a success, peaking at #23 on the Billboard Top 200 and going GOLD. The first album to feature major outside songwriting contributions (Desmond Child, Diane Warren) and guests (Jon Bon Jovi, Michael Schenker). Lead single \u201cLovin\u2019 You\u2019s A Dirty Job\u201d hit #18 on the Rock Charts while the power ballad \u201cGiving Yourself Away\u201d reached #39.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In 1991, they released the single \u201cNobody Rides For Free\u201d from the hit film Point Break starring Keanu Reeves and Patrick Swayze, which is exclusive to the LP box.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
