Describing his ideas\u00a0behind\u00a0\u2018F(OUR) WARD\u2019<\/em>, Edley ODowd notices that the combination of sound and visuals\u00a0were\u00a0\u201cessential to delivering a message\u201d-\u00a0points out\u00a0Edley talking about his foray into new territory.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI wanted to create something of nightmares and bliss\u201d<\/em>\u00a0explains\u00a0Edley ODowd<\/strong>\u00a0when asked to\u00a0discuss the\u00a0combination of visuals and sound presented on his latest solo release\u00a0\u2018F(OUR) WARD\u2019<\/em>.\u00a0ODowd<\/strong>, a long-time veteran of various musical scenes, has collaborated and performed with many musical luminaries\u00a0(Genesis P-Orridge, Deborah Harry, Lene Lovich, Tony Conrad, Shilpa Ray)<\/em>, as well as being a member of\u00a0Toilet Boys<\/strong>,\u00a0Psychic TV<\/strong>,\u00a0Kylesa<\/strong>\u00a0and his brand-new death rock band\u00a0Scorpion Tea<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Initially released as an ultra-limited cassette release via\u00a0Flesh Prison\/DeathBed Tapes<\/em>,\u00a0\u2018F(OUR) WARD\u2019<\/em>\u00a0is coming out in the rest of the world via\u00a013<\/strong>, as an extended version featuring three bonus tracks and expanded artwork by\u00a0ODowd<\/strong>. \u201cI am proud to present what I consider to be the complete version of this art and music\u201d, stresses\u00a0Edley<\/strong>, talking about the unity of two inseparable components of his creativity.\u00a0\u201cThe video clips that accompany these songs are designed to be trance-induced launchpads for the audio and vice-versa\u201d<\/em>\u00a0\u2013 admits ODowd:\u00a0\u201cA world within our own, in which we can see and hear new and exciting things\u201d<\/em>. The videos accompanying the release of\u00a0\u2018F(OUR) WARD\u2019<\/em>\u00a0were shot on various locations in\u00a0Mexico<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0Colombia<\/em>,\u00a0ODowd<\/strong>\u2019s goal was to present a visual environment one could listen to the music within.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAs I travel deeper into these new mediums, more and more serendipitous surprises come into view\u201d<\/em><\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

A long-time veteran of multiple music scenes,\u00a0Edley ODowd<\/strong>\u00a0has collaborated and performed with many musical luminaries of various genres over his 30+ years. The member of\u00a0Toilet Boys<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Psychic TV<\/strong>,\u00a0O\u2019Dowd\u00a0<\/strong>established himself as a solo-artist releasing\u00a0\u2018F(OUR) WARD\u2019<\/em>\u00a0(a play on words he developed with former collaborator\u00a0Genesis Breyer P-Orridge<\/em>\u00a0who passed in 2020), in 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
