Punk legend Gibby Haynes of the Butthole Surfers will be touring with the Paul Green Rock Academy this summer!
This tour represents the continuation of the collaboration of Gibby Haynes working with Paul Green’s students that started in 2007. Back then Paul’s students were working with a lot of progressive rock artists, and he was worried they were only receiving one perspective on music. It turned out that Paul and Gibby had a common friend in Dave Dreiwitz (Ween, JRAD) who made the introduction. What followed was the best kind of rock and roll insanity, including a reunion of the Butthole Surfers for a European tour with Paul’s students opening and augmenting the headlining set.
Since then, a tour of Gibby with Paul Green’s students has occurred every three years or so, always with mind bending results, including a legendary headlining set at the 2019 Meltasia festival.
This is the fourth time they have all gotten back together, and this tour features new original material that will be recorded and released after this tour.
