When groundbreaking British punk rock band Eater first released what was to be known as their debut album, 1977\u2019s The Album<\/em>, most of the band members weren\u2019t even old enough to legally drive a car! Perhaps that\u2019s why the band\u2019s vision for what their album should have sounded like ended up getting buried beneath the demands of their label, the overbearing powers of the show business machine and the general tumult of the British music scene. But now, decades later, the band finally had a chance to revisit the original master tapes and correct that historical error, issuing a \u201cRemixed and Restored\u201d version of their debut album, now properly titled Ant<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As Eater\u2019s main man, singer\/guitarist Andy Blade says, \u201cIf the master tapes hadn\u2019t been lost, Ant<\/em> would have been released in 1977 in place of the original Eater album The Album<\/em>, which was in fact an unfinished work in progress, minus guitar overdubs, and erroneously rush-released. It has bugged me ever since that no one ever got to hear the songs as intended, songs you can hear for the first time on these completed recordings. Thanks to the recovery of the master tapes from our producer\u2019s loft after his death, you will see why it bothered me so much. Welcome to Eater\u2019s \u2018new\u2019 debut album: Ant<\/em>!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
